Rules for using EQL Wayfinder.

1. Accepting these terms

By accessing or using EQL Wayfinder (“Wayfinder” or the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use Wayfinder for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms for it.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these terms. You are responsible for activity performed through your sign-in account and for maintaining control of that account. Provide accurate information and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

3. The Service

Wayfinder imports game inventory information, applies configurable scoring rules, and suggests gear-progression routes. It is a beta planning aid. Data coverage, item normalization, scoring, and recommendations may be incomplete or incorrect. You remain responsible for verifying an item, encounter, route, or game rule before relying on it.

4. Acceptable use

You may use Wayfinder for personal and community game planning. You may not:

• break applicable law or violate another person’s rights;
• upload malicious code or information you lack permission to use;
• probe, disrupt, overload, scrape at unreasonable volume, or bypass security or access controls;
• impersonate another person, interfere with their account, or attempt to obtain their private character data;
• use Discord, Google, OpenAI, EQL Wiki, or other third-party data contrary to their applicable terms; or
• resell or commercially exploit the Service without written permission.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of information you upload or enter. You grant Green Ear Games a limited, nonexclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and display that information only as needed to operate, secure, and improve Wayfinder. You represent that you have the right to provide it. You may request deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Our materials

Wayfinder’s original software, design, text, and branding are owned by Green Ear Games or its licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create a competing service from protected Wayfinder materials except as permitted by law or written permission.

7. Third-party services and game content

Wayfinder relies on or links to services operated by others, including Discord, Google, OpenAI-hosted infrastructure, and EQL Wiki. Their terms apply to your use of those services. Wayfinder is an independent community project and is not endorsed by or affiliated with EverQuest, Daybreak Game Company, Discord, Google, OpenAI, or EQL Wiki. Names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

8. Availability and changes

We may add, remove, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may impose reasonable limits needed for reliability or security. We do not promise that saved data or a particular feature will remain available indefinitely, so retain your original inventory exports.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service or others, respond to legal obligations, or address a violation of these terms. You may stop using Wayfinder at any time and request deletion of your data.

10. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WAYFINDER IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ITS GAME DATA OR RECOMMENDATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GREEN EAR GAMES AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR GAME PROGRESS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US$25 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Green Ear Games and its contributors against claims, losses, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of Wayfinder, your content, or your material violation of these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service changes. Revised terms will be posted here with a new effective date. Continuing to use Wayfinder after an update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
